A company that provides online marketing tools for marketing companies.
The content to be translated was the quintessential marketing content (i.e., marketing content about a marketing tool sold to marketing companies).
The content was full of marketing jargon, and the client was very specific about the exact terms to be used. It was critical for them that the readers knew that they were dealing with a true marketing expert.
The key was terminology management. The client’s feedback needed to be brought into the process, and would be used to create reference materials. This ensured that our translations would be entirely based on the client’s preferences.
On top of that, each project included an open round of preferential changes so that we could apply any new terms that the client wanted us to use. These preferential terms were then updated in our translation application memory and added to a glossary we created specifically for this client.
This approach not only included the client’s preferences on each project, but made sure that we were progressively in tune with their terminology. Nowadays, our client-specific glossary and translation memory are so up to date that we only receive a few preferential change requests per project. The company remains a satisfied client to this day.
A pharmaceutical company.
The client created a set of marketing videos that they needed to localize in 10 different languages. Each video needed to have embedded subtitles and voiceover that were synchronized with the speakers on screen.
The project was long and had a lot of moving pieces. It started with the initial transcript of the material as well as the creation of the subtitles and the scripts for the voice talents. Since there were 2 speakers in each video, and we had 10 target languages, we needed to work with 20 voice talents. The 20 voices were selected by the customer from a pool of over 100 voices offered by Australis.
The material was translated by our teams using the videos as reference. It was critical to ensure that the translations fit within the English timings, which required that our team of translators work with tools that allowed them to calculate the time it would take to read each translation.
Then came the voice recording for each language. Each voice talent received their scripts in a special format created by us, which allowed them to know exactly how much time they had to read each entry. After the recordings were done, they went through a detailed QA step to make sure that all audio files were up to standards in terms of audio quality, and also that all the timings were on spot.
The last step was putting the final video files together: The on-screen text was replaced with the translations, the voices were synchronized and added to the video, and the subtitles were burned into the final files, as the client requested.
We feel really proud about the final product, the project consisted of many different tasks, but with sharp planning and a dedicated Project manager we made it happen. At the end of the day the client launched their marketing campaign to 10 different countries. Every local branch reported that the videos were a success.
A major global postal service.
This client has a newsletter in which they share and discuss marketing topics with their readers. They wanted to extend their audience to the Spanish-speaking population in the US and needed to have the translated newsletters ready weekly.
The expertise of the team of translators was key, but so was planning, as the team needed to be available for these jobs every week. We put together an internal team of translators with extensive experience dealing with marketing content, dedicated to translating these posts as soon as they arrived. Their availability for these jobs was guaranteed with the aid of our Resource Management system.
We have also created a customer-specific translation memory and a glossary in order to make sure that these translations are ready quickly and that they are consistent with previous posts.
The client has increased its user base and continues to send every new publication to their new audience perfectly translated and on time.
